Beyond the nod to the history of the village and the Basque language, the parallel between the functions of the watchtower and the post office was obvious. At the Koskenia hostel, we want to guide, connect, communicate, transmit information through events, the grocery store. A post office is the transmission and sending of mail, the link with the population and travelers. The functions of the watchtower, the post office in its time and the hostel that we create overlap, the link with the outside world, the connection between people, the service to the population.

The symbolism of the Koskenia name for this emblematic heritage building of the village seemed to us to be completely consistent with our desire to give meaning to our entire project.
